Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is an innovative Science based institution, established all over the country at District level, which aims at human resource development through training the farmers, farm women, unemployed youths and Extension Workers and to involve the Kendra in the process of technology generation with vocational courses in agriculture and allied fields.
This Project of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), it also aims at testing and transfer of agricultural technologies to bridge the gap between production and productivity. The Kendra functions on the principles of collaboration participation of scientists subject matter experts extension workers and farmers.Imparting learning through "work experience" to those who are engaged in farming is the main purpose of the KVK. The syllabus and programme of KVK is tailored to the felt needs of the farmers resources and potential for agricultural growth in a specific area Teaching by doing and Learning by doing are the main methods of imparting skill training.
